Annealed glass plates; IRB 140 Robot
Robatutto
The engraving technique is based on the “batutto” process. Project explored robotically engraved glass. Developed workflow to recreate engraving process by affixing flex-shaft to robot through custom-milled aluminum tool holder. Named after the likeness to hammered metal, the uniform cellular pattern is typically formed using a wheel grinder. The project yielded effects that could not be preconceived once robotic coding intersected with the material.
